Affordability - from patient surveys to sexual health systems
Given the increasing financial pressure on healthcare commissioners and providers, Intouch is determined to offer great value for money. We pride ourselves on the affordability of our products - from patient surveys to sexual health systems - and our aim will always be to provide the most that we can for the budget our clients have available. We want our products to be out there giving great service to the public and helping our clients meet their objectives. Please ask us for a simple quotation or a more detailed proposal at any time. We are happy to bid within a full tendering process (although we are often credited with “unique supplier” status). We are a Catalist-approved supplier working with ComputaCenter as our prime contractor, and this method of purchase is preferred by some of our clients.
An example - Affordable Self Care Education
The Expert Patient Programme has made a creditable contribution to self-care education over recent years for patients with long term conditions. A PCT will typically have 200-300 patients going through this programme each year at a cost of £60,000 to £90,000 (the new EPP tariff is £300 per patient). EPP is often the only formal self care education going on in a PCT area since practices are so short of time to address this task. But a typical PCT may well have over 100,000 patients in its catchment area who have a long term condition. So there is huge self care education gap. Intouch’s Staywell self-care education software can be made available to thousands, not hundreds of those patients at a fraction of the cost of EPP. Our charge would typically be £2 per patient per year, not £300. And our programme also helps to identify patients most at-risk through lack of self management capability, as well as revealing the most common knowledge gaps.We are entering an era where healthcare commissioners and providers need to invest money now to improve productivity in future years. We can help make that an affordable step with a good potential return on investment.
