Encouraging more appropriate use of health services
One of the roles of Information Prescribing, supported by Intouch’s info2you software, is to inform and educate patients and carers in the appropriate use of health services in their area. The use of “pre-set”, pathway-related prescriptions within info2you, allows recipients to be shown which services they should be using (and which they should not) in their particular circumstances. For example, a much quoted example is young mothers taking their infants to A&E for all sorts of minor health issues.
