Establishing Information Prescriptions
Information Prescribing is all about a more pro-active, systematic and personalised approach to the provision of information for patients and carers. All Trusts are supposed to be establishing Information Prescriptions this year. Intouch’s info2you web software supports the whole process of prescribing and then dispensing information using a wide variety of methods. It includes the facility for “pre-set” prescriptions which are clusters of information, national and local, which are judged to be appropriate to key stages on the patients care pathway, eg “newly diagnosed”. These pre-sets make IP viable for busy health professionals who can issue a personalised prescription, in a language other than English, in as little as 10 seconds (5 mouse clicks).Information Prescriptions – Strategy and Planning
Many healthcare providers and commissioners are wrestling with the challenge of introducing Information Prescriptions and the change in working practices that this necessitates. As well as providing the IT to support the process, the Intouch team can help organisations to work out a strategy and make plans. For example, who are going to be the “prescribers” of information? Who are going to be the “dispensers” of it? Will Information Prescribing start just in primary care, or acute care, or social care….or should it embrace all three? These and others are questions we can help our clients to address and resolve. Please see also:
